Intermediate goods

Intermediate goods are materials or items that is a final-product of a process, but are also used as an input in production process of some other goods, also known as consumer goods.

Example:

Sugar is consumed directly as well as in the manufacture of food products (i.e. ice cream, cake).
Sunflower seeds can be consumed directly as well as in the manufacture of sunflower oil.
